Belgian waffles are one of those things in life that put a smile on your face. Whether you're having it smothered with syrup for breakfast or as the base of your hot fudge sundae for dessert, they are simply divine. But, if you've grown tired of having to go to a fancy restaurant for your little sweet treat, then you should buy a Belgian waffle iron. They're simple to use. Instructions
1. Place your Belgian waffle iron on a counter, table or otherwise flat, hard surface.
2. Dampen a cloth or paper towel with water and wipe away any dust from the griddle that has accumulated in between uses.
3. Plug the Belgian waffle iron into a wall socket and allow it to pre-heat. (Some units have an on-switch while others automatically heat.) Most Belgian waffle makers have an internal temperature gauge that will keep it at a consistent temperature. This way you don't have to worry about it over-heating.

5. Ladle the batter onto the hot griddle. Start in the center and wait for the batter to spread slowly to the outer edges of the griddle. The batter should just touch the edges, as when you press down, the batter will spread a tiny bit further. Usually each machine gives specific instructions depending on the size of their griddle. Some even provide an exact measure cup or ladle.

8. Allow griddles to cool (making sure you un-plug the unit) and then remove them from the iron. Place them in warm soapy water and wash and dry by hand.
