Supply A Kitchen With Basic Utensils

To make your favorite meals, you need some basic utensils. Follow these steps to stock your kitchen with enough utensils to make dinner for two or to throw a banquet.

Instructions

1. Buy kitchen utensils to measure ingredients. These include a liquid measuring cup, dry measuring cups and measuring spoons. These often come in sets that include different sizes.

2. Include a good knife set to take care of all your slicing and chopping. Buy knives that never have to be sharpened. Make sure that you knife set includes a paring knife and a bread knife. If you purchase knives that require sharpening, obtain a top quality knife sharpener.

3. Supply your kitchen with a kitchen scale. Some recipes call for a certain weight of meat or other ingredient. A kitchen scale is a simple utensil that will measure weight for you.

4. Keep the time with a kitchen timer so you won't burn that next meal or forget about your rising bread.

5. Buy various sizes of mixing bowls so you can use them to stir ingredients or store food in them.

6. Include bakeware and cookware in your kitchen. Bakeware such as a cake pan, pie pan, muffin tin and baking sheet are necessities. You will also need a few pots and skillets for your kitchen.

7. Stock up on basic kitchen utensils such as a spatula, ladle, mixing spoon, whisk, tongs, grater, peeler, colander, juicer, can opener, serving spoon and a slotted spoon.
