Do Hair Ties With Chopsticks

Chopsticks make good hair accessories.

Wearing chopsticks to hold up your hair originated in Asian countries. This practice has been around for many years in cultures all over the world. The chopsticks are usually woven into the hair to hold it in place. The chopsticks are sold in many stores around the world, in a range of styles, colors and prices. Wearing chopsticks can be fun, fashionable and an elegant look for your hair.

Instructions

1. Choose a pair of chopsticks. The wooden ones from restaurants work, but tend to snap easily. Plastic ones are more durable.

2. Comb your hair straight and gather it in the back, as if you are making a ponytail.

3. Twist your hair into a bun.

4. Hold your bun with one hand and push one of the chopsticks into your bun, starting at the bottom and sticking it diagonally upward.

5. Take the second stick and twist it at the top of the bun and push it downward through the center of your bun at an angle. The two sticks should form an "X."
