Make Pancakes That Are Fluffy

Proper pancakes are light and fluffy.

Pancakes are a breadlike breakfast food that is often served with syrup, butter, powdered sugar or jam. Many varieties of store-bought pancake mixes are available, but making your pancakes from scratch gives them a light and fluffy finish. Although it takes a little practice to know exactly when to flip the cooking pancakes, once you know the signs to look for, you will be able to whip them out with ease, creating the perfect fluffy pancake each time.

Instructions

1. Combine 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, a pinch of salt and 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour into a large bowl.

2. Whisk together 3 tbsp. vegetable oil, one egg and 1 1/3 cups milk in a small bowl. Pour the wet mixture into the large mixing bowl with the dry ingredients, and combine to form a smooth batter.

3. Heat a few tablespoons of butter on a 12-inch skillet or griddle over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter on the griddle for each pancake.

4. Flip the pancake with a spatula after tiny bubbles appear all over the top of the pancake and the very edges are a light golden brown.

5. Wait for another minute or two or until the pancake is cooked through.
