Construct A Wine Rack

A wine rack can help store multiple bottles in a small location.

For an oenophile, receiving a bottle of wine is one of the best things that can happen. Wine bottles, however, are bulky and tend to take up a lot of room. If you have multiple bottles of wine, you may want to consider building a wine rack. A wine rack is small and can hold multiple bottles of wine in a compact and out-of-the-way location.

Instructions

1. Place the four 2-foot 1x10 boards in a square frame and screw them into each other. You should have what looks like an open box.

2. Measure 16 inches into the center of the 32-inch 1x10 boards and make a mark (this should be the center of each of the boards). Cut a notch in each of the 32-inch boards at the mark which is 3/4 inch wide and 4-5/8 inches deep. Slide the boards together at the notches so they form an "X."

3. Place the "X" inside the open box. The diagonal pieces should just fit inside the frame. Stand the frame on one end. Place bottles of wine horizontally in a stack in the areas between the X and the side of the frame.
