Directions For Using Frozen Jalapeno Poppers

Add some spice to your usual appetizer fare. Opt for a snack reminiscent of chiles rellenos: jalapeno poppers. These are breaded and fried jalapeno peppers with a cheesy filling. Occasionally fried jalapenos appear as appetizers at restaurants and bars, but these treats are also available in the freezer case of most grocery stores. The poppers brand of fried, stuffed jalapenos is pre-cooked and only requires reheating in the oven or a second frying in a deep fryer.

Instructions

Baked

1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Arrange the jalapeno poppers in a single layer on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

3. Bake the Poppers for 10 minutes or until they darken to a light brown.

4. Cool the poppers slightly before serving so they do not burn your hands when you pick them up.

Fried

5. Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

6. Drop the frozen jalapeno poppers into the oil. Use caution to avoid being splattered from oil when the ice crystals on the poppers hit the hot oil.

7. Fry the poppers for 3 1/2 minutes or until golden brown.

8. Lift the poppers out of the oil with a slotted spoon and transfer to a drainage rack or paper towels to drain and cool to the touch before eating.
