Cook A Roast With Coke & Lipton Soup Mix

Cook a pot roast in a slow cooker to tenderize the meat.

Pot roast needs slow cooking due to its toughness. The slow cooking helps to tenderize the meat, and liquid helps flavor it. Coke adds a sweet taste to the pot roast, while the Lipton soup mix infuses the vegetables and meat with a rich onion flavor. Once you finish cooking your pot roast, you can use the leftover liquid to create thick and rich gravy to serve with the meal.

Instructions

1. Add 1 cup of baby carrots, 2 stalks of chopped celery and 1 cup of whole red potatoes to the crock-pot.

2. Place the whole beef pot roast into the crock-pot over the vegetables.

3. Add 10 fluid oz. of Coke and 2 cups of water over the pot roast. Add the two packages of Lipton onion soup mix and stir the ingredients until the soup mix dissolves.

4. Cook the roast for 8 to 10 hours on low. If you need to cook it faster, you can set the crock-pot on high for 4 to 6 hours.

5. Remove the roast and vegetables from the crock-pot and onto a serving platter.
