Make Sparkling Blueberry Juice

Turn fresh blueberries into homemade juice.

There is nothing better than a fresh glass of homemade juice on a hot summer day, especially when the juice is made with real blueberries and a splash of carbonated water. Refresh yourself after a long day of work with homemade sparkling blueberry juice. Serve the sparkling blueberry juice with dinner or at a birthday to party for guests to enjoy.

Instructions

1. Wash 2 cups of blueberries in a colander under cool water, and set aside. Fill ¼ of the saucepan with water and add the blueberries and sugar to the saucepan. Boil the blueberries over medium heat on the stove for 10 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the stove and allow the blueberries to cool for five minutes.

2. Mash the blueberries in the water with a potato masher, to extract the pulp and create concentrate blueberry juice. Leave the juice to cool for 15 minutes after mashing. Strain the blueberry juice into the pitcher and place the juice in the refrigerator for two hours.

3. Remove the pitcher from the refrigerator and add the lemon juice. Mix the lemon and blueberry juice in the pitcher with the cooking spoon. Pour 2 qts. of water into the pitcher and mix the blueberry juice with the water using the cooking spoon.

4. Pour 1 qt. of carbonated water into the pitcher after mixing the blueberry juice with water, to make the blueberry juice sparkle. Slowly mix the carbonated water into the blueberry juice with the cooking spoon, to prevent bubbles from rising quickly to the surface.

5. Taste the sparkling blueberry juice in a glass to ensure it is to your liking. Sweeten the sparkling blueberry juice with an additional 1 tbsp. of sugar if the juice tastes bitter.
