Cheese To A Homemade Pizza

Homemade pizza is an inexpensive and healthy way to feed your family. You can make your pizza look and taste every bit as good as any "professional" pizza maker. The way the cheese is added to the pizza is important to the appearance of the final product. Here are a few practical tips on add cheese to your homemade pizza recipe.

Instructions

1. Select low moisture cheese for your homemade pizza recipe. Cheeses like cheddar and American contain a lot of moisture, which will cause your pizza to burn. Use a low moisture cheese like mozzarella, Romano, Parmesan or provolone. Provolone, however, has a strong smell, and children may not be too receptive to it.

2. Shred the cheese. Large chunks of cheese will not melt quickly enough for the pizza. It's important to have shredded cheese for quick cooking.

3. Use more than one type of cheese. The combination of several cheeses adds a flavorful kick to your homemade pizza recipe.

4. Start at the edge of the pizza sauce and work inward. Keep the cheese on the pizza sauce. Runaway strands of cheese applied directly to the crust will burn when the pizza is cooked.

5. Sprinkle the cheese rather than patting it on the sauce. The cheese should be a layer and not mixed into the sauce. Add liberally or scantily depending on your taste.
