Spice To Your Dried Refried Beans

Spices can add a flavor to dried refried beans.

Dried refried beans are beans that have already been cooked and have been dried in a food dehydrator. You can add spices to the refried beans while they are being prepared and cooked, but you can also add spices to the dried refried beans before or while you add water to re-hydrate them to be eaten. Dried refried beans are convenient to pack for camping and backpacking since they are light to pack. They provide a good source of food energy when they are re-hydrated and eaten.

Instructions

1. Put the dried refried beans in a bowl or a bag to contain the beans and spices while they are being mixed together.

2. Add all the spice ingredients to the dried refried bean mix, either in the dry mix if you want to cook the beans later, or while you are adding water and heat to the beans while you prepare them to eat.

3. Stir the spices in until they are thoroughly mixed into the beans. Taste and add more spices as desired, keeping in mind that the flavor of the spices will go stronger as they are cooked and are resting in the prepared refried bean mixture.
