Make A Liquor Watermelon

Nothing says summer like a watermelon full of alcohol. It is the perfect way to complement a barbecue or summer get-together. A July Fourth celebration wouldn't be complete without the all-American liquor melon. Follow these steps to be a big hit at your summer celebrations.

Instructions

1. Buy a large ripe watermelon and your choice of alcohol. The best options are vodka, coconut rum and Everclear.

2. Slice off one end of the watermelon and set it aside. Dig a tunnel down the middle of the melon and remove a good portion of the pulp. Scrape the inside of the melon to loosen some pulp, but leave it in the melon to soak up the alcohol.

3. Fill the watermelon with vodka and allow it to be absorbed by the pulp. Refill the melon with coconut rum and allow it to soak in as well. Add a small amount of Everclear to the mixture. Add more vodka and rum until the watermelon won't absorb any more alcohol. Stir the alcohol with a spoon to ensure that it is evenly mixed.

4. Recap the end of the melon and store it in a cool place until your party. It is best to start the melon early in the morning so the alcohol has plenty of time to absorb into the pulp.

5. Uncap the watermelon and pour the liquid and loose pulp into glasses to serve. There will be plenty to go around. When the alcohol has been consumed, slice the melon and enjoy a tasty fruit snack.
