Ship Homemade Fudge

Cut your fudge into smaller segments before shipping.


You would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't love opening a package of homemade fudge. Fudge makes an excellent gift or care-package addition year round. Mailing fudge isn't difficult, but does require more preparation than other types of candy because the main ingredients, cream and butter, melt and spoil easily.


Instructions


1. Place a sheet of wax paper at the bottom of your airtight container and around the sides. Wax paper prevents the fudge from sticking to the edges.


2. Cut fudge into 2-inch squares and place them inside the bottom of the container. To prevent sticking, place a sheet of wax paper in between every additional layer of fudge. Lay a final piece of wax paper on top.








3. Seal the container and place it inside a freezer-safe bag before putting it in the freezer. Wait several hours, or until the fudge is completely frozen. While your fudge won't arrive frozen, sending it frozen delays the melting process by several hours.


4. Place the fudge container in a cardboard box and pack the remaining space with crumpled newspaper to cushion movement during shipping. Tape the box shut and write the appropriate destination and return addresses on top. Avoid spoiling and melting by shipping the fudge overnight or express mail.
