Just east of Dallas in north central Texas, you'll find the city of Mesquite. With a population of over 124,000, only about 10 Chinese restaurants are within the city limits. Chan's Chinese Restaurant
Chan's Chinese Restaurant allows you to watch its chefs in action as they prepare your meal. The restaurant allows you to dine in but does not have wait staff to serve you. Appetizers range from 95 cents to $5.50 and include egg rolls, barbecue spare ribs and cream cheese rolls. Entree prices range between $6 and $10 and may consist of seafood, chicken, pork, beef or vegetables. Dishes include Hunan Shrimp and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Dishes can be prepared without MSG. Chan's I Chinese Restaurant accepts all major credit cards and is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and from noon to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. Lunch specials are available.
Panda Express
With over 820 stores, Panda Express is a national fast food chain which serves Chinese cuisine. The Town East Mall location is in the food court of the mall and is open from from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Menu items include appetizers, soups and entrees. No MSG is used in preparation of any dishes. Appetizers include chicken egg roll, cream cheese rangoon and veggie spring roll. Entrees range from Pineapple Chicken to Mongolian Beef to Kung Pao Shrimp. Menu items are all below $10.
Red Lantern Chinese Restaurant
Red Lantern Chinese Restaurant is on East Davis Street and offers patrons over 50 dishes from which to choose. The buffet costs $5.95 on week days and $7.95 on weekends. Buffet items include Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, Pepper Shrimp and Beef Brocccoli. No MSG is used in preparation of dishes. Red Lantern accepts all major credit cards and is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Delivery is available upon request.
Chi's Wok
Chi's Wok serves fast food Chinese cuisine with menu items all under $10. Appetizers range from $1 to $8 and include steam dumplings, pu pu platter for two, fried chicken wings and fried shrimp. Soups include wonton, egg drop and chicken noodle. Entrees are made with beef, shrimp, chicken or vegetables and all menu items are MSG-free. Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Chi's Wok accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover only.
