Make Strawberry Pretzel Dessert

Strawberries provide a good source of vitamin C.

Satisfy your craving for something that's salty and sweet -- make a strawberry dessert with a pretzel crumb crust. While the combination may sound strange, the two flavors complement each other. If you're looking for a low-calorie strawberry dessert, use fat-free cream cheese and whipped topping, as well as sugar-free gelatin. Serve your strawberry sweet during humid summer months for a refreshing after-dinner treat.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Coat a deep baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

3. Mix the crushed pretzels, 2 tsp. sugar and melted butter in a bowl. Scrape the pretzel mixture into the baking dish. Spread the mixture so it forms an even-layered crust.

4. Bake the pretzel crust for 10 minutes.

5. Remove the pretzel crust from oven. Let it cool completely.

6. Combine the softened cream cheese and sugar. Mix until creamy. Fold in the whipped topping. Spread the mixture over the pretzel crust.

7. Mix the strawberry gelatin with the boiling water. Stir until the powder dissolves. Add the sliced strawberries.

8. Place the bowl of gelatin in an ice bath. Refrigerate it, stirring occasionally until it thickens -- remove it before it sets.

9. Spread the thickened strawberry mixture over the whipped topping layer. Refrigerate your strawberry pretzel dessert for at least six hours before serving.
