Vegan restaurants specialize in food that does not use or contain animal products of any kind. Most establishments will not devote their entire menu to vegan cuisine, preferring to offer a separate side menu instead. The city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is home to more than a dozen vegan-friendly restaurants.
Cuba Libre
Cuba Libre is an upscale restaurant that opened in 2000 and specializes in Cuban cuisine. The Guacamole Cubano, made with avocados and fresh pineapples, is a popular choice, as is the traditional black bean soup. Although many entrees include meat, nearly every dish includes a vegan alternative, which led "Urban Spoon" to rank Cuba Libre as the No. 2 vegan-friendly restaurant in the city.
