Arrange Meat Trays

Making up your own meat tray is economical.

If you are having a party, a meat tray can be a lovely addition to your table. Tastes among guests vary, so it's a good idea to offer a variety of options. You can purchase a ready-made meat tray, but making one yourself will save you money.

Instructions

Arrange Meat Trays

1. Roll each slice of deli meat into a log and cut it into individual servings. Cutting them into halves will allow the guest to either eat it on its own or on a cracker, but it will still be large enough to put on a piece of bread for a sandwich, if desired. Cutting it in this manner will also make your meat tray look fuller.

2. Roll and cut your slices of cheese as you did the meat. Put a slice of cheese after every two slices of meat on the serving tray. Do this around the entire tray. If you are using block cheeses, you can cut them into bite-sized cubes and tuck them in between the meat and the cheese.

3. Break apart small sprigs of parsley and fill in any gaps on the serving platter. Cherry tomatoes and small pieces of broccoli also make good accent vegetables.

4. Cover the entire serving platter with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until 10 minutes before guests arrive.
