2. Remember to bring proper identification to rent a keg from your local grocery store, convenience store or liquor store. At the same time, purchase eight bags of ice. Be sure to bring a vehicle big enough to transport the keg and all the ice.

4. Place your keg gently in the trash can on top of the layer of ice. The keg should be in the center of the can so you can add several more bags of ice all around the keg. Store any remaining ice in your cooler for use later.
5. Pour just enough water in the trash can to make the ice wet. Make sure that the keg is not taller than the top of the trash can to ensure optimum cooling.
6. Replenish the can with more ice from your remaining bags after about an hour.
