Bundt Pan Vs Angel Food Cake Pan

Bundt cake pans and angel food cake pans are both used to make classic ring-shaped cakes. They have a similar appearance, but both the function of the pans and the cakes they're designed to create are distinctly different.

Bundt Pan

A Bundt pan is a round, fluted cake pan with a tube in the center. It is used to make Bundt cake, a classic dessert of German origin.

Angel Food Pan

An angel food cake pan is a round, tall cake pan with a tube in the center. Most angel food cake pans have removable bottoms.

Design

Bundt pans usually have a distinctive design on the inside, to give the cake a decorative surface, while angel food pans are smooth and plain.

Size

Both Bundt and angel food pans come in standard sizes that hold about 12 cups of batter, and they also come in a variety of miniature sizes.

Uses

While the two cake pans look similar, they should not be used interchangeably. Bundt cake batter and angel food cake batter have different consistencies. Angel food cake batter is usually frothier; baking a Bundt cake in an angel food pan may cause the batter to leak out from the removable bottom.
