Select New Propane Grill Burners

Grilling outdoors isn't just another cooking technique. For many, it's a bonding experience with the outdoors even if "nature" involves cedar fences and community covenants. When problems arise with a grill, people are hesitant to chuck old burners and get new ones. But replacing worn out burners can add years to your beloved grill.

Instructions

1. Find the make and model of your grill. Burners aren't one-size-fits-all, so it's essential that you know your grill's information before you go burner shopping.

2. Choose the quality of burner best suited for your grill, realizing that high quality burners will cost more. Lower-end burners made from aluminized steel will be much cheaper than the higher-end cast brass ones. There are burners that fall into the middle range as well, but choices may be limited by the type of propane grill you're trying to fit.

3. Decide how long you want the new burners to last. If your grill is on its last legs but you want to get another summer or two out of it, then buy aluminized steel burners, which typically last 3 years.

4. Purchase high quality replacement burners if you've invested a lot into your grill to begin with.

5. Consider ease of cleaning as you select new propane grill burners. No matter how careful you are, grease is a fact of life with grilling, and burners inevitably get grease on them--which can deteriorate the burner--and needs to be cleaned off.
