With so many people trying to eat healthier foods, fish is becoming a very popular meat alternative. One of the favorite fish dishes of a lot of individuals is salmon. However, most want to avoid that overtly "fishy" taste and smell. One way to accomplish that is by making a delicious honey glaze for the dish.
Instructions
1. Thaw your salmon fillets thoroughly before cooking if they are frozen.
2. Put a cast iron skilled on a heat source and heat to between 400 and 450 degrees.
3. For each pair of salmon fillets, add 1 tablespoon of butter or oleo and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet and blend thoroughly.
4. Season to taste one side of each salmon fillet using Season-All salt and pepper.
5. Put salmon, seasoned side down, into the skillet once it is properly heated. The salmon should sizzle when added to the skillet. If it doesn't, the skillet isn't heated correctly. Remove the salmon and reheat the skillet to between 400 and 450 degrees.
6. Season the other side of the fish fillets while in the skillet. Then flip them over once the first side is properly seared. Sear the other side the same way. Turn the heat down to low while you prepare the honey glaze.
7. Prepare the honey glaze. For each pair of salmon fillets, pour 1/4 cup of honey into a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1/4 teaspoon of lemon pepper to the honey. Blend thoroughly.
8. Turn the heat up under the salmon to medium before pouring one-quarter of the honey glaze onto the salmon fillets. Turn and pour another quarter of the glaze on the other side of the fillets.
9. Continue to cook the salmon on medium heat until it is cooked completely through.
10. Remove the salmon from the skillet, pouring the glaze left in the pan over the top of the fillets. Garnish with parsley and serve.
11. Heat the remaining honey mixture left in the bowl in the microwave or serve room temperature along with the salmon, according to your personal tastes.
