The state of Florida is home to more than 100 kosher restaurants, according to a list compiled by the Hanefesh Community in 2010. A Hebrew word meaning "fit" or "proper", kosher, as pertaining to cuisine, means something appropriate to eat by Jewish law. Although religious views have shaped the kosher dining philosophy, the dietary practice has spread to the non-Jewish community, with many eating kosher products for health purposes or moral reasons, such as vegetarianism.

Featuring an outdoor dining patio, Shalom Haifa is a Glatt Kosher restaurant specializing in Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine. A family owned and operated establishment, the eatery has been open since 1988. The menu emphasizes freshness and homemade fare including vegetarian bean soup, falafel plates, stuffed grape leaves, goulash, fried fish, stuffed Cornish hen, cabbage stuffed with ground beef, beef kabobs, baby lamb chops, fish in red pepper Moroccan sauce and hummus. Wine and cocktails are available to complement meals. Shalom Haifa offers a Nine Days menu and Succah On Succot, as well as catering services. Reservations are recommended at the restaurant, and they are open for lunch daily and dinner Saturday through Thursday.

The first kosher Thai restaurant established in Florida, Thai Treat has been open since 2001. The restaurant's menu that has expanded to include Japanese and Indian cuisine. Thai Treat's delicacies include vegetable tempura, kabobs, spinach and tofu in curry, tandoori chicken, spicy tuna roll, lamb with almond and cashew sauce, ceviche, beef biryani, shitake mushroom roll, honey garlic chicken, red curry and Pad Thai. Beer and regional beverages like Thai iced tea are also available. Thai artwork and colorful tiles decorate the walls of the casual eatery, and the woven chairs and flowers give it a tropical feeling. Under Kosher Miami supervision, Thai Treat is open Sunday through Friday for lunch and dinner, and one hour after Shabbat on Saturdays.
