Yum Brands, the parent company for Pizza Hut, offers franchise opportunities. These opportunities are not for everyone. Find out if franchising a Pizza Hut store is right for you by following these eight steps.
Instructions
1. Fill out the franchise information application. This application is available online or by calling the Pizza Hut home office, Yum Brands.
2. Access capital and financing. Yum brands will want to know that you have $1 million net worth, experience in and working knowledge of the food service industry, as well as $360,000 in liquid assets.
3. Allow Yum Brands to perform a credit and background check along with a detailed interview. At this time you will be shown the training requirements, begin an operating plan, as well as complete a franchise profile.
4. Perform a one and a half day store experience. This will give you insight into a typical work day.
5. Locate a franchise site. Location is key and Yum Brands will need to approve the site of your franchise prior to starting your own Pizza Hut franchise.
6. Negotiate a store purchase. This is only necessary when you are purchasing a new store.
7. Attend training courses. Training courses consist of 8 to 12 weeks of extensive in-store as well as classroom training on Pizza Hut products.
8. Prepare to open several more sites in the future. Yum Brands requires a commitment of at least 3 to 5 store openings within the first 3 years of establishing an agreement with the company.
