Bake Potato Chips

Save yourself some daily calories and bake your own potato chips. They taste just as delicious and take only a few minutes to prepare. Flavor your homemade potato chips with a variety of dry spices to satisfy any craving. They make a great afternoon snack or serve them as a quick and easy side dish with hamburgers or hot dogs.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Peel the potato and slice it into thin slices about 1/8 inch thick. Use a food processor with slicing capabilities if available; otherwise use a sharp knife and slice the potato by hand.

3. Dip a pastry brush into the oil and brush each potato slice.

4. Sprinkle salt onto the potatoes. Add additional seasonings such as pepper, seasoning salt, dried herbs or powdered cheese.

5. Spray a cookie sheet or other flat baking pan with cooking spray. Arrange the potato chips onto the pan so that the slices are not touching.

6. Place the potato chips into the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the chips from the pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
