Flower pots can be quite expensive, but if you tap into your own crafty and creative side, you don't need to spend an arm and a leg on a home for your plants. Here's an idea to make your own decorative (and frugal) flower pots.
Instructions
1. Sort through your recycling bin; there are bound to be an assortment of containers and jars. Pull the ones that you find to possess a interesting shapes. Flower pots can easily be made out of plastic or glass containers; glass for the more hardy version.
2. Clean your items well and scrub off any labels on what will become your own decorative flower pot. If you have a would be planting pot with a stubborn label, soak it in warm water and rub off the adhesive with dish soap.
3. Decorate your flower pot. You can paint it any color or pattern you want. It's also a cute design to glue buttons and other decorative around the rim of your second hand, cheap flower pots.
4. Put holes in the bottom of your recycled pot; or, rocks in the bottom (before the soil) to allow for proper drainage of your plants.
