Stuffed animals have a way of multiplying and cluttering up a child's room. A hanging net can organize the critters and provide a decorative display. This crocheted net's triangle shape allows it to easily fit into a 3-foot corner below the ceiling. It can be crocheted in less than two hours and is an excellent project for a beginner.
Instructions
1. Chain 101. Turn and single crochet in the second stitch from the hook. This stitch counts as your first single crochet. Single crochet in each chain stitch across for a total of 100 single crochet stitches.
2. Chain four and turn. This counts as the first double crochet stitch and chain two stitch. * Double crochet in the third stitch and chain two. * Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with a double crochet, only, in the last stitch.
3. Turn and slip stitch in the first chain space of the row. Chain four. Double crochet in the second chain space and chain two. * Double crochet in the next chain space and chain two. * Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with a double crochet stitch, only, in the last chain space.
4. Repeat Step 3 for each row until there is one chain space left. Finish off the yarn and weave in the end.
5. Attach the yarn with a slip stitch in the end of the beginning chain. With the right side of the net facing you, stitch two single crochet stitches around the double crochet posts and stitch two single crochet stitches in each chain two space around the edge of the net sides. Leave the beginning chain unstitched.
6. Attach a cup hook in the corner of the ceiling and loop the ending over it. Pull the net out for a guide and attach the other two cup hooks to the ceiling at the other two chain space points on the net. Loop the chain spaces over of the hooks.
