Grill In Winter

If grilling is a big part of your life, you should not let a few snow flakes interrupt your meal. Winter-grilled food tastes even better that it does during the summer because it is so unexpected. Here are some steps to guide you through grilling in the winter.

Instructions

1. Bundle up. Depending on the weather conditions, you may need a parka, gloves, scarf and several layers to keep you warm.

2. Fire your grill up! Most hardcore grillers choose to use a gas fueled grill for the winter months. However, by using gas, you will eliminate the aroma that is only produced by a charcoal grill. When using charcoal, be aware that you may need to cook your food slightly longer.

3. Store the grill properly. If you choose to use gas with your grill, make sure it is stored properly before and after use. This means it should be kept in a garage or storage facility to eliminate exposure to extreme temperatures.

4. You should not let cold temperatures or a few snow flurries keep you from grilling the perfect steak or hamburger. Regardless of what your choice of grilled food is, grilling in the winter is no different than in the summer. You can still enjoy the same great flavor all year. To keep your grill from freezing up during a winter rain or ice storm, you may want to store your grill in the garage or a storage area until your next use.
