Uses For Grape Seed Oil

Grape seed oil is made from the small seeds of the grape.

Grape seed oil is commonly used for beauty and cooking. Grape seed oil is a polyunsaturated oil that is extracted from the seeds within grapes. They are mostly produced in Italy and has been used by Europeans for centuries. Grape seeds are commonly taken from wine grapes because the seeds are typically discarded when the wine is produced.

Cosmetics

Grape seed oil has strong antioxidant properties and helps skin combat free radicals which can lead to aging. It is often found as an ingredient in massage oil because it moisturizes and glides onto the skin well. Grape seed also acts as a mild astringent that keeps skin firm and clean. It can be found in creams, makeup, and after sun lotion. You can use grape seed oil as a beauty product all on its own or learn to mix it into your already existing beauty products.

Cooking

Grape seed oil has a sweet light and slightly nutty aroma and taste. It has a thin consistency and is colorless. Grape seed oil can be used as a base for infusing flavor in salad dressings, marinades. It can also be an ingredient found in homemade mayonnaise. Because of its high smoke point and its ability to handle high heat, it can be safely used for stir-fries, baking, fondue, and sauteing.
