Fry Potatoes In An Electric Skillet

If you love potatoes, then try to fry potatoes in an electric skillet. Fried potatoes are a simple side dish to make for any meal. The potatoes cook in less than 30 minutes, and they require minimal preparation time. Fried potatoes are a popular southern dish, and a variety of recipes exists for seasoning and cooking the potatoes. Try making your own fried potatoes the next time you find yourself cooking a homemade dinner.


Instructions


1. Wash the potatoes to remove any dirt and debris. Peel the potatoes to remove the potato skins.


2. Preheat the electric skillet to 400 degrees. Add 1/4 cup of vegetable oil to the electric skillet.


3. Cut the potatoes into 1/2-inch slices. You can cut the potatoes into cubes or round slices.


4. Add the potatoes to the heated vegetable oil. Begin seasoning the potatoes with salt, ground black pepper and sugar.








5. Turn the potatoes once they begin to brown. Add more vegetable oil if the potatoes begin to stick.


6. Continue browning the potatoes. Cover the potatoes with a lid. Continue to fry the potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes until they become brown and tender.


7. Check on the potatoes periodically to ensure that they do not burn. Reduce the heat the last 10 minutes of cooking. This will keep the potatoes from scorching.


8. Serve potatoes while they are still hot.
