Open An Old Dutch Queso Jar

A tough jar lid can turn snack time into a feat of strength.

Old Dutch Restaurante Style Salsa con Queso dip is made from all natural ingredients and pairs perfectly with tortilla chips. The dip comes in a standard salsa jar, which can be tough to open. The best way to open a particularly stubborn jar of Old Dutch Queso dip is by warming the lid with hot water. This causes the metal lid to expand, which makes unscrewing the lid much easier.

Instructions

1. Turn the hot water on in your kitchen sink. Hold the jar's lid directly underneath the running water for 30 seconds, being careful to keep any exposed skin away from the water. Dry the jar with a clean towel.

2. Dampen a washcloth in the sink with hot water. Wring it out and cover the lid with it. Place the jar on a sturdy, flat surface, such as your kitchen countertop.

3. Grip the base of the jar tightly with your dominant hand. Place the palm of your free hand on top of the lid, apply downward pressure and firmly grip the edges of the metal lid with your fingers. Twist the lid counterclockwise until your hear a loud "pop" sound.
