Refrigerate Horseradish Sauce

Horseradish sauce can be added to meat for greater flavor.

Horseradish sauce is composed of horseradish root that is ground and combined with vinegar. Adding horseradish to meat and fish adds a unique flavor to meals and is a popular condiment around the world. Bartenders may also add horseradish sauce to Bloody Marys for added spice. Horseradish sauce can remain fresh for several months in the refrigerator for reuse in meals and drinks.

Instructions

1. Screw the top onto the horseradish sauce tightly. If the sauce is not in a jar with a top, tightly cover with plastic wrap.

2. Place the horseradish sauce in a visible place in the refrigerator so you can watch it over the weeks. Horseradish will turn from off-white to brown once it loses its freshness so it is important to be able to see it in the refrigerator.

3. Check the horseradish after four months to ensure it has maintained its color. It should remain fresh until the color changes.
