Fill Tins With Cupcake Batter

"Short and squat." "Blackened." "No uniform sizes." These are not the words you want to describe your cupcakes. But you could have these results if you don't take care when you fill your cupcake tins with batter. Taking a few minutes to fill your tins accurately can lead to the perfect cupcake.

Instructions

1. Select a cupcake tin of high quality. It should be shiny and be of heavier weight. Most standard cupcake pans have 12 wells. There are some smaller cupcake pans that have 6 wells.

2. Grease the inside of each well with vegetable oil.

3. Spray the inside of the cupcake liners with vegetable oil. Place one a cupcake liner in each well.

4. Measure the precise amount of batter to fill one well. Use a measuring cup or scoop to add the same amount of batter to each well of the tin. Fill the wells 3/4 full. Accurate measurements create cupcakes of uniform size.

5. Fill any open wells 1/3 full of water, which will eliminate any smoking while in the oven.

6. Wipe any spills off the cupcake tin so that batter will not burn and make the tin more difficult to clean.
