Assemble A Picturesque Homemade Fruit Salad

Layer pieces of fruit on top of each other to make an attractive salad.


Tropical fruits, such as pineapple and mango, over layers of berries such as strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, and topped with a layer of tender bananas makes for a refreshing salad during a hot summer day. Assemble layers of fruit in a clear glass bowl, and drizzle a sweet and tart lime marmalade dressing to make your salad complete. Easy to prepare and assemble this salad will look as good as it tastes.


Instructions


Layer the Salad


1. Place a layer of pineapple cubes at the bottom of a large glass bowl. Put a layer of bite-sized mango over top the pineapple.


2. In another bowl toss together strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Pour this mixture over the mango layer and spread it out evenly.


3. Cut a honeydew melon in half on a cutting board with sharp knife. Scoop out the seeds in the center with a spoon and discard.


4. Use a melon baller to scoop out small balls of the honeydew. Arrange a layer of the melon balls on top of the berry mixture.


Lime Marmalade Dressing








5. Put 1 cup of orange marmalade into a small sauce pan. Add 1/2 cup of lime juice, 1/2 cup of water and 3 tbsp. of sugar.


6. Stir the ingredients together over low heat until the marmalade melts and the sugar dissolves.


7. Continue cooking the sauce for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove the pan from heat.


8. Allow the dressing to cool slightly. Pour the marmalade over the fruit salad. Cover the salad with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour before serving.
