Make A Simple Trail Mix

Start your trail mix with familiar items.

Here is a trail mix so simple a child can make it. All ingredients may be varied to suit your individual preference. For this recipe, choose four ingredients that are both nutritious and appealing to you and your family or guests. Experiment with different combinations. Try golden seedless raisins for a change. Add candy-coated chocolate pieces for eye appeal. Whatever you choose to put into the trail mix, this is a simple and inexpensive way to combine a few ingredients and create something that is more than the sum of its parts.

Instructions

1. Choose from various kinds of pretzels.

Measure 1 cup each of the cereal, pretzels, raisins and candy-coated chocolate pieces.

2. Try golden seedless raisins for a change.

Pour the ingredients into the bowl.

3. Candy-coated chocolate bits increase the eye appeal of the trail mix.

Mix the ingredients with the spoon until thoroughly blended.

4. Store the trail mix in a zip-top bag or covered container to protect freshness.
