Over time, minerals build up inside a coffee maker, producing limescale. It's important to descale your coffee maker every few months if you are a regular coffee drinker. When limescale is left uncleaned, it can build up and eventually cause the coffee maker to not work properly. The cleaning process is simple, and can be done in the same amount of time it takes to brew a pot of coffee.
Instructions
1. Turn off the coffee machine and wait for it to cool down completely.
2. Empty out the coffee pot if there is any coffee inside. Rinse it out with water.
3. Pour 3 cups of water into the coffee maker's water chamber.
4. Pour 3 cups of vinegar into the 's water chamber.
5. Turn on the coffee machine.
6. Turn off the coffee machine when only 3 cups of liquid have made their way into the coffee pot. By stopping the process half-way, the vinegar is getting a chance to work through the limescale inside the coffee pot's water chamber.
7. Wait an hour, and turn the coffee machine back on.
8. Empty out the coffee pot once the coffee making cycle has finished. Fill the pot up with water, pour it into the chamber, and turn on the coffee maker again.
9. Repeat Step 8 one more time to ensure all of the vinegar has been cleaned out of the coffee maker.
