Deviled Ham Salad

Make a flavorful sandwich spread using cooked ham.

Deviled ham salad is a classic sandwich filling you can make with cooked or smoked ham, making it an ideal way to use holiday dinner leftovers. If you're tired of serving baked ham in the traditional way, chop it up and blend it with a variety of savory ingredients to create deli-style lunchtime treats. You can also serve homemade deviled ham salad sandwiches at picnics, luncheons and other casual daytime gatherings.

Instructions

1. Chop a 1/2 lb. of cooked or smoked ham coarsely using a knife. Transfer the ham pieces to a food processor bowl and pulse the machine on "medium" until the ham is finely chopped but not paste-like. Place the chopped ham in a medium mixing bowl.

2. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sliced cornichon pickles, Worcestershire sauce, salt and ground black pepper to the ham.

3. Blend the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon to create the ham salad.

4. Spread the deviled ham salad between two slices of bread.
