Make Pumpkin Juice

Whether you need a good seasonal drink for Thanksgiving or are throwing your child a Harry Potter themed party, pumpkin juice is a great choice. It is a quick, healthy alternative to sugary, carbonated drinks.

Instructions

1. Juice the pumpkin. Cut the fresh pumpkin into chunks or use canned pumpkin. Use a juicer to collect the pumpkin juice. If you don't have a juicer, wrap the pumpkin pieces in cheesecloth and squeezed it over a bowl.

2. Add apple juice to the freshly squeezed pumpkin juice. Apple juice helps sweeten the recipe. Use equal parts of pumpkin juice and apple juice. If you squeeze 3 cups of pumpkin juice, add 3 cups of apple juice.

3. Pour a little bit of honey into the juice mixture. Honey adds even more sweetness, and flavor. Start off with just a little. Taste the juice mixture and then add more honey to taste.

4. Stir in the spices. Use a combination of ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg and ground ginger or use all-spice or pumpkin pie spice instead. The seasoning is really up to you. Start out using tiny amounts and add more to taste. Don't over season. These spices have strong flavors and are meant to enhance the pumpkin juice, not overpower it.

5. Pour the mixture into the blender. Blend the pumpkin juice thoroughly mixed. Serve the pumpkin juice over ice to make it cool and refreshing.
