Make A Pork Chop Coating

Here's a great recipe for coating that you shake pork chops in before you bake them. It's very inexpensive to make and it's really good -- so no more buying the expensive kind in the store. Homemade is always better!

Instructions

Heat Oven

1. Preheat the oven to 425. Core and slice the apple in 1/4 inch slices. You can leave the skin on if you like it that way, but peel it now if you don't.

2. Place the flour, bread crumbs, minced onion, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning in the flat bottomed bowl. Stir with a fork until well mixed.

3. Put a pork chop face down in the coating mix. Push down on it to help it pick up enough of the mix to cover. Turn the chop over and coat the other side. Do the remaining pork chops.

4. Coat a shallow baking dish with oil. You can use cooking spray if you use a good bit. Place the pork chops in the baking dish. Arrange the apple slices between the pork chops and all around the dish.

5. Cover the dish with a lid or foil and bake for 40 minutes. Take the cover off and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Your chops will be done to perfection!

6. Make more than you need. If you want, you can double the recipe and put half of it into a resealable bag. It will keep for about two months in the fridge or about one month in a cabinet.
