How Thicken Sauce With Wondra

Wondra flour is a flour created to dissolve more quickly in liquids than regular flour. This means it won't form lumps as easily as regular flour would when added to your sauces and gravies. Wondra flour may be used directly from the box or shaker to thicken any sauces or gravies, whether they are hot or cold. Unlike regular flour, Wondra instant flour does not need to be mixed with fatty oils or other liquids prior to adding it to the sauce.

Instructions

1. Scoop up some Wondra flour in a slotted spoon, if you bought it in the box and not the shaker. Sprinkle just a small amount, about the equivalent of a 1/4 tsp. per cup of sauce, at a time into the sauce.

2. Stir the sauce, using a Wisk or a fork, as you sprinkle the flour to blend it evenly.

3. Wait for at least one minute before adding more Wondra flour. The sauce will thicken more given some time, and you can always add extra flour to it if it does not thicken as much as you want.
