Make A Cheese And Onion Pie

Use dough, cheese, onions and a few spices for a tasty pie.


A savory pie is all you need for comfort food on a chilly day, and the British cheese and onion pie is much easier to prepare than a complicated quiche. If you're craving something salty and are short on time, this pie is a great snack or meal. Make a classic cheese and onion pie the English way to enjoy the warmth of a winter meal.








Instructions


1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place one circle of the prepared dough in a lightly greased, 8-inch pie plate.


2. Dice the onion using a sharp knife. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onions until brown. Set aside.


3. Grate the cheese into large shreds and set aside.


4. Place browned onions onto the 8-inch pastry, then top with a cheese layer.


5. Pour the milk on top of the cheese and sprinkle the pepper on top.


6. Add a second layer of pastry dough. Cover the entire pie with the pastry dough.


7. Bake for 30 minutes until the top of pie is brown.
