Make The Best Cheesy Potatoes

Most people like cheesy potatoes.


Cheesy potatoes is a side dish that is very simple to make but is loved by most people and can accompany many main dishes, such as meat, pork or chicken. It is also very popular with kids and can be used as an addition to any cookout. One of the benefits of cheesy potatoes is they fill as a side dish for different meals in the days to come. An additional benefit is that the dish is so simple that young adults can make this side dish and impress many people.


Instructions


1. Boil clean, quartered potatoes in a pot of water. This should take about 30 to 45 minutes to become soft in the middle. Check the potatoes with a fork to determine whether or not they are done.


2. Cool the potatoes. Begin by draining the potatoes in a strainer, and then let them sit for one hour.


3. Cut the cooled potatoes into smaller slices.


4. Spray a 10-inch-by-8-inch-by-3-inch glass cooking dish with cooking spray.


5. Layer the bottom of the glass dish with one layer of potatoes. Use some of the little pieces of potatoes to fill in the nooks and crannies.


6. Coat the single layer of potatoes with 1/4 cup of melted butter and then as much shredded cheese as you desire and a sprinkling of thyme to your taste.


7. Layer the rest of the potatoes on top.








8. Top the second layer of potatoes with 1/4 cup of melted butter and as much thyme and shredded cheese as you desire.


9. Cook the cheesy potatoes at 350 F for 15 minutes in an oven. When the cheese melts, the potatoes are ready.
