Nostalgia popcorn makers let families watch as the popcorn fills the container.
Nostalgia popcorn makers are designed to look like the old-fashioned popcorn machines or carts that were commonly pushed around carnivals and fairs. Nostalgia is a product line that produces popcorn makers and carts that can be compact enough to fit on your kitchen counter. You also can find full-sized Nostalgia popcorn makers. Kids will enjoy this type of machine because it allows them to watch the popcorn pop and fill the container, much like they would see at a movie theater. These machines offer an advantage over microwave popcorn because you can control how much of each seasoning is added.
Instructions
1. Place the Nostalgia popcorn maker on a level surface. Make sure the machine is cleaned before using.
2. Use the provided measuring cup and guidelines to measure out the amount of popcorn you want to make. Most counter top versions can make up to 1 gallon of popcorn, while larger commercial machines can make up to 5 gallons of popcorn in one batch.
3. Pour the popcorn kernels into the metal pan inside the Nostalgia popcorn maker, and add the appropriate amount of oil as outlined in the measurements guide. Close the lid. If you have an air popper, oil is not necessary.
4. Close the door, turn your machine on and watch as the popped corn slowly flows out of the metal pot and fills the surrounding cage with fresh, popped popcorn.
5. Serve hot in paper lunch bags. Allow each person to add their own toppings, such as butter, salt or caramel seasoning, then shake the bags to incorporate the ingredients onto each piece.
