Make Chinese Baked Chicken Wings

Baked Chinese chicken wings can be served as an appetizer at parties or with other Chinese food.

Baked Chinese chicken wings, with their distinct sweet and spicy flavoring, are well-known appetizers that complement a variety of Chinese main dishes, and they can also be served on their own as party snacks. These chicken wings are typically found in Chinese buffet and take-out restaurants, but you can easily prepare them at home in your own kitchen.

Instructions

1. Combine soy sauce, sugar, pineapple juice, honey, vegetable oil and water in a large mixing bowl. Stir the ingredients to form a marinade. Add ground ginger and minced garlic cloves and continue to stir until the spices are thoroughly mixed into the marinade. Use garlic powder if you do not have garlic cloves.

2. Place the chicken wings into the mixture and refrigerate. To ensure that the wings are fully coated, you can also place them in a resealable bag with the marinade. Allow the wings to marinate for up to 4 hours, or overnight if possible.

3. Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the chicken wings side-by-side. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and place the wings in the oven. Pour any leftover marinade over the wings for extra flavor. For less messy wings, simply brush the leftover marinade over the chicken.

4. Bake the chicken wings for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until they are crispy. Add a pinch of salt and black pepper for seasoning. Serve hot.
