Instructions

Make Something in a Blender

1. Plug in the blender and make sure all the piece are put together properly. The blender should be cleaned and dried before use especially if it was just removed from its packaging. Set the blender in a spot where you can easily add ingredients to it easily. A counter top is the perfect area to keep a blender.

2. Peel the ripe bananas to make a banana milkshake in the blender. Place the bananas on a cutting board and slice into small pieces. Large chunks will need to be blended for longer in the blender so if you want the milkshake done quicker slice the bananas into smaller pieces. Ripe bananas should be used but fresh bananas can also be used. Ripe bananas are easily blended since they are very soft to the touch. They are also at the peak of flavor when they are at the ripened stage.

3. Place the cup of vanilla yogurt into the blender before placing anything else inside of it. This will keep the blades from creating a void where nothing actually gets mixed. Liquids should go into the blender before anything else. After the vanilla yogurt gets placed in the blender add the sliced bananas. Place lid on the blender and press the on button to mix. Blend until this gets to a chunky consistency. Turn blender off and open lid to pour in crushed ice. Return lid to the blender then turn on again. Blend until it is in milkshake consistency. Pour into a chilled glass and serve with a slice of banana as garnish.

4. Make an Orange Julius drink in a blender by placing 1 cup of orange juice into a cleaned blender. Add pineapple chunks to the blender. Pineapple chunks can be fresh, frozen or canned. If you use canned use a little bit of the pineapple juice in the can in the Orange Julius drink. Blend the orange juice and pineapple chunks to a smooth consistency with the lid on. If the chunks of pineapple seem to still be big, shut off the blender and use a spoon or chopstick to push down the chunks so they are near the blades of the blender.

5. Add crushed ice to the orange juice and pineapple blend. Replace lid on the blender and mix until smooth. Pour this drink into a tall chilled glass and garnish with an orange slice. Another way to make this drink is to use real oranges instead of just orange juice. Substitute one orange peeled, sliced and seeded for the orange juice. If you choose to use oranges and pineapple place the crushed ice into the blender first since it blends into a liquid.
