Make Hot Wings In The Oven

Bake hot chicken wings in the oven for an easy meal or snack.

Frying chicken wings can add unnecessary fat and grease to the poultry. You can make crispy hot wings by baking them in the oven. Baking the chicken wings in the oven gives them a golden brown texture and it allows the seasonings to cook into the wings. When you are ready to serve the wings, pair them with celery sticks or a dipping sauce such as ranch or bleu cheese.

Instructions

1. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Apply nonstick spray to the aluminum foil.

2. Combine 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 1/2 tsp. of salt in a large plastic storage bag. Shake the bag to combine the ingredients.

3. Add 20 chicken wings to the bag. Seal the bag and toss the wings until they are coated well with the flour mixture.

4. Place the chicken wings onto the baking sheet. Place the wings in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

5. Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine 1/2 cup of melted butter with 1/2 cup of hot sauce in a small bowl.

6. Dip the chicken wings into the sauce mixture and then place them back onto the baking sheet. Bake the chicken wings until they are no longer pink in the middle and they reach a safe internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. This will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour.

7. Turn the chicken wings over halfway during the cooking time so they cook evenly. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and serve the wings while they remain hot.
