Microwave Snow Crab Legs

Microwaving snow crab legs is a quick way to have an indulgent seafood dinner at home. It’s simple to nuke the shellfish but a tad tricky to keep it from becoming chewy and overcooked. You can turn out perfectly-heated snow crab legs from the microwave, though, if you just watch it carefully and thaw it properly beforehand. Here are a few simple steps to show you how.

Instructions

Microwave Snow Crab Legs

1. Thaw the snow crab legs in the refrigerator overnight. It’s best not to attempt thawing them in the microwave since you run the risk of overheating them. The flash frozen snow crab legs you buy at the supermarket are already cooked.

2. Place the snow crab legs in a microwave-safe pan or on a dish.

3. Cover the snow crab legs with two or three thick paper towels.

4. Heat on high for 2 minutes.

5. Uncover the snow crab legs and test the readiness of one of them by cracking it and examining the meat. The meat should be tender, but not overly stringy. It should be moist and not dry.

6. Heat for another minute or 90 seconds if necessary. That’s it. You’ve got dinner.
