Make Marshmallow Jiffy Popcorn

Butter is not the only popcorn topping. Try sweet marshmallows.

Combine two campfire treats into a single, sweet snack. Jiffy Pop is a brand of popcorn with its own pan for cooking over a stove top or directly over a fire. Adding melted marshmallows to the prepared corn covers it with a sticky, sweet coating reminiscent of marshmallow cereal treats. Coat popcorn with marshmallow instead of topping it with caramel or butter for a change of pace the next time you need a snack.

Instructions

1. Pre-heat an electric range to medium-high heat for three to five minutes or set a gas range or cooking fire on medium-low heat.

2. Lightly coat a 9-by-13 inch baking pan with oil or butter.

3. Remove the cardboard instruction panel from the top of the Jiffy Pop pan.

4. Hold the pan by the handle on top of the burner. Listen for the oil inside the pan to begin sizzling.

5. Shake the pan back and forth across the burner for two to five minutes until the foil top grows to full size and the popping sounds slow.

6. Remove the pan from the burner and pierce the foil top with a fork to open.

7. Pour the prepared Jiffy popcorn into a large bowl.

8. Melt the marshmallows and butter in a pot on the stove.

9. Pour the marshmallow and butter mixture over the popcorn.

10. Stir the popcorn with a spatula to cover all of the kernels with the melted marshmallow mixture.

11. Spread the popcorn into the prepared baking pan and cool completely.

12. Break or cut the marshmallow popcorn into individual portions and serve.
