The Best Way To Keep A Shrimp Pasta Dish Warm

The Best Way to Keep a Shrimp Pasta Dish Warm

A shrimp and pasta dish with a light cream sauce can make any meal into a special and memorable dining experience. If you make your dish ahead of time, you have several options for keeping the shrimp and pasta dish warm until serving time. Whether you choose to use a slightly warm oven, a crockpot or you wrap the dish to keep it warm, when you finally serve your dish it will be worth the wait.

Instructions

1. Bake the shrimp and pasta dish as close to serving time as possible. Save time by preparing it ahead, but wait to bake it as long as possible so you will not have to keep it warm for long.

2. Cover the shrimp pasta dish and place it in the oven. Adjust the cover so it is slightly ajar (or peel back the aluminum foil in one corner) to keep the casserole from drying out. Set the oven to approximately 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and keep the casserole warm in the oven for up to one hour.

3. Transfer the shrimp pasta dish to a crockpot. Set the crockpot to a warm setting and keep the meal warm in the crockpot for one or two hours. Stir periodically to keep it from drying.

4. Wrap the dish tightly in aluminum foil. Next, wrap four or five layers of newspaper around the dish over the aluminum foil. Finish wrapping the shrimp pasta dish by wrapping a large bath towel around the newspaper. The multiple layers of insulation around the casserole will keep the food warm inside the dish.
