Combine that with the city's large Hispanic population, and it should be no surprise that New York City is home to some of the best Spanish restaurants that are sure to make a special evening memorable.


Tia Pol


Voted a top restaurant by Citysearch and Zagat, Tia Pol is a Spanish tapas bar in Chelsea between 22nd Street and 23rd Street. Tia Pol opened in July 2004 and serves a variety of regional cuisines from Spain. The attire is casual and reservations are not needed. The facility is not wheelchair accessible and outdoor seating is not available. Recommended entrees include Sencillo, 18-month-aged jamon Serrano with tomato; Escalivada, roasted vegetables, beyos cheese and black olive vinaigrette; and Patatas Bravas, rough-cut potatoes with spicy aioli tapa. Tia Pol is open Tuesday through Friday for lunch, Saturday and Sunday for brunch, and is open seven days a week for dinner.
