Decorate Pie Edges

When decorating either homemade, or store bought pie crusts, look beyond the kitchen for tools that can create interesting and eye catching designs. Instructions


1. Wash any size coin in hot soapy water to remove germs. Dry thoroughly, and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Use the coin to gently impress an interesting design around the edges of your crust. Trim away any excess crust after decorating.


2. Search for interesting buttons in a variety of sizes and shapes. Press the buttons around the edge of your favorite pie crust, for an unusual, decorative touch. Use either new buttons, or those which you have washed well, dried, and sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.


3. Stamp edges using newly purchased rubber stamps. Stamps are available in a variety of patterns and designs, which can suit almost any occasion. Spray the stamp with non stick cooking spray after every few impressions, to ensure that the crust does not stick inside small grooves in the stamp.


4. Use clean, inexpensive jewelry for a decorators touch. Crosses, stars, hearts and any number of other shapes that often appear in jewelry, can make eye catching impressions in pie crusts. Shaped earrings and engraved necklaces are two types of jewelry that work very well for decorating pie crusts.








5. Trace shapes in the rolled out crust with a toothpick and use a sharp knife to cut them out. These can be then be placed around the edges of your crust, for a creative design that will impress almost any dinner guest.
