Baked Chicken With Onion Soup

Dried onion soup adds zesty flavor to baked chicken.

Baked chicken is an easy dish to prepare for family or for dinner guests. The addition of dried onion soup sprinkled over the top of the chicken before it's baked adds an unexpected flavor boost to the chicken. Use this recipe with either a whole cut-up chicken or with boneless chicken tenderloins. Either way, it's bound to become a supper favorite at your house or an impressive main dish to serve guests at your next dinner party.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 by 13 inch baking pan with a no-stick cooking spray.

2. Rinse a whole, cut-up chicken or 10 boneless chicken strips in cold water. Pat dry with paper towels and place the chicken in the pan.

3. Pour 1/4 cup melted butter over the top of the chicken.

4. Sprinkle one 1 oz. package dried onion soup mix over the top of the chicken. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Cover the pan with tin foil and bake in the oven 40 minutes or until chicken is done.

6. Remove chicken from pan. If you use a whole cut-up chicken, you will have some chicken fat left in the bottom of the pan. Combine these drippings with an equal amount of sour cream for a gravy to serve over the chicken.
